Trondheim kunstmuseum’s collection contains a large number of works that, for different reasons, we cannot show for extended periods of time. These include works that are physically unstable, works that are particularly light sensitive or fragile, including some works on paper, but also works in time-based media and works with a performative element, and works that require space or a room of their own. This room is dedicated to such works.

Learning from the artist

With the new presentation, the museum wants to make use of the knowledge that artists bring with when meeting our collection. Thus, new paths in art history shall be created — a multi-perspective, dynamic, and multi-voiced narrative of art histories. In other words: The museum learns from the artists.
