On Saturday, September 27, Lorck Schive Art Prize 2025 opens its doors – and it’s the place to be!
Four acclaimed Norwegian contemporary artists will unveil brand-new works created specifically for this exhibition, supported by the prize. These pieces have never been shown before, offering a rare opportunity to experience cutting-edge contemporary art at its freshest.

During the exhibition period, an international and independent jury will evaluate the works and select one artist to receive the Lorck Schive Art Prize 2025.

The 2025 Shortlisted Artists:

The Lorck Schive Kunstpris is often referred to as the artists'  own prize for artists. The prize and the nomination process are unique in their context. The prize sum is 500 000 Norwegian kronor . Each of the four artists on the short list are given a production budget of 150 000 Norwegian kroner to produce a new work for the prize exhibition at Trondheim kunstmuseum.

The combined production- and prize sum makes The Lorck Schive prize one of the largest in Europe.

The prize and the exhibition are a collaboration between the board of the Lorck Schive and Spouse Trust and the Trondheim kunstmuseum. The purpose of the Lorck Schive Art Prize is to foster debate and interest around contemporary art by honoring outstanding artists. The prize exhibition is held every other year at the Trondheim kunstmuseum, with the first exhibition taking place in 2013.

The board of the Lorck Schive and Spouse Trust:

The art prize was initiated by the board of the Lorck Schive and Spouse Trust. The board consists of visual artists. Currently, the board includes Ruben Steinum, Marte Aas, and Farhad Kalantary.
